Next ULB Project

I found this recipe on Tammy's Recipes. She has MANY MANY great recipes!! She also observes the Days of Unleavened Bread as well and has some amazing recipes. I really like matzos that I buy from the store, but I want to try to make at least one new recipe for ULB each year. And since, I have never made unleavened bread before and this looks so yummy I have decided to try it this year.

Egg and Onion Matzos

A soft, homemade unleavened bread squares with egg and onion flavors
Yield: 8 servings
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 cup milk

Instructions:
1. Combine onion powder and milk in a small bowl, and allow to soak for a few minutes.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter. Add egg and onion powder/milk mixture. Knead into a smooth, soft dough, adding additional flour if needed.

3. Divide dough in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a large rectangle, at least 1/4-inch thick but not more than 1/2-inch thick.

4. Using a pizza cutter or butter knife, cut dough into 2x2-inch squares, or another size as desired. Place squares on a lightly greased, lightly salted cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Use a fork to prick each square several times before baking.

5. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-14 minutes, until golden and cooked through (but not hard or dark). Remove to wire rack; cool.

I made the unleavened bread and it was super yummy! I took some over to my parents too.

I may try them without the onion power and do something more sweet, maybe switch in sugar and cinnamon? YUM!

I am thinking about making more and taking them for lunch between services on the last Holy Day. I love it when we all eat together and fellowship. :)

Andrea, you're the sweetest! You don't have to do anything, I hope you know that!

Here's the thing, I am totally comfortable with you having my address... but as I said in my last post, right now I have NO idea what my address will be for the next few months. Haha... So when I find out, I'll let you know, how about that? :)

Right now the plan is to be surprised. It's killing me too. Seriously! :)

Of Course!! I totally forgot about the logistics of you moving! It will take me a bit to make something, so no worries :)

If I am very blessed with a baby I would totally want to be surprised, but I know it can be hard to wait :)
